New year New Begining

As everyone knows today is New Year's Eve. The last day of 2012. Looking back, I have to say its been a wonderful year. Our baby turned one and developed her personality, our Bug went from a toddler to a full on little kid, Hubbins and I found our grove and our marriage has flourished, Hubbins became a manager and we got an awesome dog. Those are just a few high lights with so many more small moments that stole my breath. 2012 certainly didn't start well and had MANY bumps and bruises, but over all the good most deffinatly out weighed the bad.

So with 2013 just a day away, I wonder what will happen next year and I have to admit that I'm super excited about the 13 part. It is after all my lucky number, do this has to be an epic year! I'm not big on resolutions since they seem to be made in good intention but rarely followed throw with. So, I hope to continue to find my path, to stay happy and in love with my husband, to take more time to enjoy all the moments of our girls' lives and to find lucky, beauty and peace where ever possible.

Have a safe and happy new year! Love to all my family and friends! May 3013 rock your world.

Dec 13th

I am now 25 years old! It doesn't seem like that can be quite right most days. In truth, if you ask me what my age is, most days it takes a moment for me to remember. I usually end up adding however old Ladybug is to 21. There are days when I feel so much older than I am and days when I feel like I am too young to be this age. However, I am now 25 years old and in so many ways, my life began 4yrs ago. I've always thought of life as a series of books. You know, the kind where it all centers around one character but the stories aren't always the same or don't really equal out to each other. Where some characters stick around from beginning to end and some fade away at the closing on one book. For me that's how I see things. Sometimes, I feel like my memories are disjointed and don't seem to connect to the person I have become now. Almost like if you jumped into a TV series at the end of its final season and then go back and watch the first couple of episodes from season 1. The main characters don't always match up to who they were at the end. (Or maybe that's just me.....) Anyway, I certainly don't feel like the girl from five years ago nor do I think I would recognize myself in her. Or the girl from ten years ago for that matter. Like I said, I feel like life for me began the day I had my oldest, two months shy of 21.

Some days I feel like I should be going through some crazy need to have my wild 20's and others I feel like I am fresh out of high school waiting to take on the world. Then one of my little ladies wakes up or comes into the room and it doesn't matter what my age is because I am a mom. Or my husband comes home from work and kisses me like he's been dying of thirst all day and I am a cool drink of water (sorry, couldn't help the simile there!) Maybe that's why I forget my age regularly or struggle to feel my age....Because at least to me it really is just a number. I have a great life and a treasure room filled with wonderful memories of my past. Do I have some dark ones I prefer to not look at EVER sure but then again who doesn't? No, I am loving this book in my series. I am loving being a mommy and wife! I look forward to the days I am old and gray! To the days I get to rock our grandkids to sleep and hubbins and I are winkled and walking with canes. I can certainly wait and wish time would go a little slower but I am so not dreading any of it!

Sorry, this is all so disjointed. The best part about my blog is I can simply write my thoughts so that is what I did!

B's birthday and Bug's first dance

Sorry that the pictures are all jumbled up but posting them on mobile and then coming to the computer apparently makes things a little wonky. Anyway, last weekend was another busy one. Ladybug had her first two dance recitals and we celebrated, my nephew, B's 4th birthday!

I love that Ladybug is so into dancing and gets excited every weekend to go to class. I've always been a huge fan it! So going to her recitals last weekend (Sat. at a retirement home and then her big one Sun.) was one of the most amazing experiences. She did fantastic on stage and when we watched the other dancers she was in awww. I think we found a hobby or activity that will be a big part of our little girl's life!

B turned 4 on Dec. 6th and we celebrated Saturday night with a Batman party. My older brother went a little crazy with the decorations but truly that's half the fun of kid parties. Though for me the very best part was watching my older brother and nephews interacting with our grandparents. It show just how far we've all come as a family over the last year. Of course, watching B get super excited about his Iron man mask from us was a very close second. I love him so very much and cant get over how quickly he is growing. I'm sure he will grow into one amazing man one day!

Gingerbread Houses

Today we made gingerbread houses at Ladybug's school. I think the pictures say everything. But I want to thank Yaya for her psychic abilities and sending us the perfect gingerbread house shirt.

Great Grandparents

Last Thursday evening we spent some time with each of my grandparents. I don't spend nearly enough time with them honestly and I get reminded of this every time I see them. Not because they say something (even though they do) but because my heart eases a little bit when I am up there. Watching my girls grow bonds with their great grandparents and see the love between them. I know that time is short and no one really wants to talk about it. But the truth is, they won't be around forever, as much as I wish they could be. So it's so important for me that the girls create these memories and emotions with them now. For me to embrace and savior each little blessing I receive when I get to feel their hugs and see the smiles on their faces. So, the goal is to visit them as often as possible for as long as possible so we can create many more memories. I love you all so very much!

North Pole Breakfast

Sunday we did our very first North Pole Breakfast. I actually got the idea from here. Though, we are NOT doing the Elf thing as it creeps me out. The whole doll watching everything you do and then tattling on you... not cool, not cool! But that is a whole other tangent which I will more than likely go off about before the end of the holiday season.

Anyway, back to the subject. I feel in love with the idea of a magical breakfast sent from Santa or his elves to kick off the holiday season. I love all the childhood magic and faith Christmas time brings. The girls light up whenever we see a house decorate with lights, or someone even breaths the name Santa Claus. This is also the first year both girls are really into the spirit of the season and can grasp the joy of it all, so I wanted to start new traditions.

Little Giraffe woke up extra early which meant so did Santa's lil helpers. They decorated our table with mini snowballs, homemade trees (they stole these from my shelf), snow covered donuts, reindeer kisses, fun place mats and special Santa kisses for each girl. Our special elf friends are named Glitter and Sparkle and we will be seeing more of their magic work as the season goes on.

Both girls got swept up quickly in the magic and took a few moments to see the surprise gifts Santa had sent too. Though, Lil Giraffe was WAY more interested in Elf snowballs and Glacier chocolate milk.

I love the look of pure magic on Ladybug's face when she saw the table. The little sleepy head was wide awake in a flash when she spotted the magical table and has talked non-stop about her "Santa" breakfast.

The girls each got shirts to wear when we go see the Jolly fellow later this week and jiggle bells straight from Santa's sleigh. It was the perfect beginning to our Sunday and the start of Christmas season. I believe this is a something we will be doing every year and the start of our new tradition.

Christmas Decorations and Parade of Lights

This has been a weekend filled with Christmas fun. We decorated our tree, went to the parade of lights, Christmas gift shopping and this morning was our first annual North Pole Breakfast (I will do another post about this later). All in all its been a very fun filled weekend. To start with here are some of our decorations.

Friday was the Parade of Lights and it was so much fun. Its very much a small town parade but the floats are  so pretty. This has to be one of my favorite events of the year and by far the girls' favorite parade. My favorite float was the dancing Snowmen but the girls agreed the float filled with Angels was the best. I wish had gotten closer to the tree as the crowd quickly becomes a mob towards the end when Santa comes down on his sleigh  Sadly, we were too far away to get any great pictures of the tree lighting but the moment was still magical. You could feel the magic of Christmas vibrating in the air as Santa waved to the crowd before flipping the switch. I will have to post a picture later once I get it from Hubbins, but Ladybug was brave and  took a picture with the Grinch after the parade. Lil Giraffe hide in the stroller with her hands over her eyes so alas she did not get a picture. I hoping we have better luck later this week when we go to see Santa.

Girls fashion

One of the best parts about being a mommy of girls is dress up. And boy, do we LOVE to dress up. Both my girls are little fashionistas with their own style and attitude. I wanted to share some of my favorite outfits since I am going through pictures. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Mr. & Mrs. Willmarth

This last week the whole family traveled across the crazy snow covered mountain pass to celebrate my brother's wedding! I have to say it was worth all the stress from last week. I am so glad Kiddo has found her soul mate. She is beautiful and kind, really just all around amazing. I love the laughter they share and the pure love you see when they look at each other.

The wedding was beautiful and so thought out. They had a candy bar with various size home made boxes to take some home, gorgeous white canopies with just small hints of rusticness. Really it was remarkable and my mother made a fabulous cake. I am always amazed by her mad skills and creativity! I wish I had taken better pictures or at least had a better camera.....(hint hint, birthday/Christmas gift hint hint) but the whole night was so much fun. Everyone was so friendly and it was pleasure to meet everyone there. Of course, a high point was seeing my oldest brother! He flew in from Virginia for the wedding and it was great to see him and have him meet Lil Giraffe and see Ladybug again.

All in all it was a fabulous wedding and you two shine with LOVE!

Gotta brag a little

So today was our first ever parent/teacher conference. I have to admit that I was very nervous. I believe our Ladybug to be extraordinarily smart and did not want that belief to be shredded. Also, I am prone to over thinking and worrying. I know shocker! Anyway, I was happily surprised and my heart filled with pride when her teacher not only told me our little Bug scores the best in her class on their "tests" (or whatever they call them), but that in many subjects was at the level of a kindergartener!!!! That's right, my baby in a genius!!!! Now, if I can only get her to focus a little more she could take over the world! Mwahahahaha....!!!!

Random happenings

Its been a crazy couple of weeks filled with a lot of fun, stress, and craziness. Of course, this is just the start since we have my little brother's wedding ( I am super excited about this!!!!), birthdays, dance recitals, holidays, oh my! So, let me feel you in on the happenings of the last couple of weeks. I have been busy organizing my house and though it feels like I am doing so one drawer or box at a time, I can see and feel the improvements. We rearranged the living room and it feels more.....zen. I will post pictures of it once I get everything in its rightful home. The days have been filled with park time (since winter will be here soon) and getting things ready for the coming business.

Ladybug also had her first field trip and bus ride on Oct. 30th. Her class went to Petco to buy fish! The whole week before she talked nonstop about FINALLY getting to ride the bus and how she couldn't wait to see the fish. My mother in law watched lil bean so that I could go on the trip with her. It was so worth it! Her excitement was contagious and she made the simply pet store seem like a safari ride. Her favorite part was getting to pet the snake. "It felt creepy!" I am so glad that I am blessed to be working part time and able to experience

The rest of our week was filled with a girls shopping trip with my sister and niece, dance class and general goofing off. Hopefully, I will be starting on their Christmas tutu outfits next week as well as some fall decorating and Christmas crafts.

Playing it old school

I love sharing pleasures from my childhood with the girls. Little things that leave huge imprints on my life. Things that seem to have been forgotten in the technology age. Tonight, I got to show the girls what "cellphones" we're like when I was their age. How we communicated from bed to bed or room to room. That's right I made them a cup phone. And watching their joy and hearing the laughter the simple little toy brought them did my heart good. Because I want my girls to learn that you can find happiness in the most plain things. It seems so easy for society to get caught up in the new and shinny to forget about how great life was when you came home when street lights came on, you drank from the hose on a hot summer day, or the instant pleasure a letter in the mail was. These are things I want my girls to have.

It's a little late but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. I hope it was a fantastic day! I will write more later as I am tired and going to cuddle my wickedly adorable lil witch.

Hay ride//Mommy w/ Bday Bug
Daddy&Bug//Make a wish

This past week marked the start of the marathon months. November and December seem to be getting busier and busier as the days go on. However, I cant complain too much because to be completely honest I am very much looking forward to all the great happenings. But I will write more on those events as they come up. So, back to this last week! Wednesday was Ladybug's 4th birthday and I am still trying to figure out where all the time went. When did I become a mom of a little girl, not a toddler or baby, but a little preschooler? The day was filled with hay rides in freezing weather, pumpkins (carving and decorating), Tinkerbell, and Bug's favorite dinner. By bedtime we were all exhausted and ready for a good nights sleep.
Halloween Preview

This weekend was a Halloween preview. There was trick or treating at Harley Davidson (Hubbins' work), dance class Halloween party and then a spontaneous of the moment Halloween theme surprise party for one of our family friends. Monday night I got a text from a good friend saying she wanted to throw a surprise party on Saturday for her son's 5th birthday. This is like putting a wire in a light socket when it comes to me....I LOVE PARTIES! The planning, the decorating and watching all the happy faces during the party. This party was no exception and I have to admit that I helped get the ball rolling but V rocked this party. She did an amazing job with very little help from me. Though I did make mummy dogs for the first time that turned out super cute!!!! And later this week I will posted pictures of our new living/dinning room set up that my fantastic hubbins did for me on Sunday.
Surprise Bday party for a friend

I hope everyone else has a great week, mine will be filled with work, Bug's first field trip, cleaning and organizing the house (again) and lots of laughs!
