Happy Halloween

I'll post more tomorrow but for now.

Ladybug's Pumpkin patch field trip

I love being a preschooler mom! Ok, I love that I still get to spend all day with her at school and go on all the fun field trips. Yesterday, Ladybug's class got to go to the pumpkin patch. It was cold, wet from melting snow and crazy. Which means the kids pretty much had the most amazing time ever and I got a front row seat to all the smiles and memory making.

Aidan and the Ladybug's "Turning 5" release party

I loved that Ladybug wanted a rock star party this year. It's so her, loud, crazy and fun. She is in love with rock stars and wants so badly to go to a concert, so it was a blast to bring the concert to her. I had all these grand plans in mind but due to budgeting issues, I had to scale back some. So this party was a test in throwing a great party on a tight budget. Which add A LOT of stress but also a lot of fun to the planing. Anyway, here are some pics from the party.
Hubbins made these great ticket invites and the CD covers. I love how they turned out and I'll share her 5yr pictures he took later this week. He then found awesome record looking CDs to burn Ladybug's playlist too. I love this man and his AWESOME talent.

The stage: this was SOOOO much fun to make and the kids had a blast rocking out here. Hubbins and I made the back drop from craft paper and a table cloth, the speakers are boxes and poster board. We borrowed the drum set from a friend and I scored the amp at the Dollar tree.
Merchandise table: we had blow up guitars and microphones, shade glasses, stickers, candy and CDs to give out to guest. I thought it would be fun to set them out like a sale table at a concert.
Usually Yaya makes the cake but this year things just didn't workout that way, so last minute we ordered this great cake from Albertsons.

Even my grandma got in on the rock star action. I'm pretty sure some of the girls spunk and sass come from her.
She looks so happy. I can't believe how big my Ladybug is getting.

I love her face here. This was her right after opening the Our generation doll from Yay. She really wants an American Girl doll so this is our dry run to see if she is old enough to take care of the doll.

Happy 5th Birthday, Ladybug

Dear Ladybug,

I love you so much and can not believe you are 5years old today. Officially a big girl and for you this is such a monumental day. You've been planning and talking about turning five since before you were even four. Mommy, on the other hand, is far from ready. You seem to grow and become more and more independent as the days go on. I'm not ready for you to be a big girl, for you to be five. I wish, I could pause time to savor your snuggles and stories. To have a few more random kisses and cuddle moments.

You are so wonderful and have so many grand qualities and gifts. Even though your sassy stubbornness can drive Daddy and me a littl crazy, it's one of my favorite things about you. Those personality quirks will take you places and help you over come so many of life's obsticals. You have this love and passion for life. And an imagination that allows you to see things in a crazy magical light. These things will help you achieve new heights and follow your destiny.

Then there's this sweet, sensitive side to you. Oh, how I love that side of you. You embrace everyone and see only good in others. You cry during movies or books and feel for people who are hurting. Your heart is beautiful and pure. I know, sometimes you dislike your sensitivity, but Ladybug, embrace it. It's a very special gift and you bring so much joy and love to the world through it.

Ladybug, you are so many things. A princess, an adventurer, a teacher, a photographer, a friend, a golden heart and so many more. This is just the first step today. The first step toward your dreams and goals. I am so proud to be your mommy and honored to be here with you every step. You changed my life when you were born. You made me a better person snd filled my heart with so much love and light.
I can't believe it's been five years since I held you for the first time. Since the moment you looked into my soul and brought out the good. Ladybug, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

With love every step of the way,
Love,
Mommy

Trendy Tot Tuesday

I am so ready for things to slow down a little and we are almost there. But since this week is another crazy week with work, babysitting, and gearing up for Ladybug's birthday and party, I am doing a easy Trendy Tot Tuesday  post. It helps that my girls are looking oh so stylish and fashionable today.
Seriously, I love this outfit. One because this vest has been a favorite for a year now. It's super soft and fun. Plus, it goes with a lot of outfits and styles. Added with the skinny jeans and boots, she just looks fall perfect.

So, this sweater is actually two sizes too big, but when it comes to fall I LOVE over large comfy sweaters. Ladybug can totally pull this look off and I absolutely die when she wears these leggings. This may be one of my favorite outfits.

I know I've said it before, but I love fall outfits. They are comfy meets chic!

Reflection

One of the few good things (it is a very short list) of working over nights is that I have time for reflection. I miss my girls something crazy and can have too much thinking time. But this last week I have ponder my life and what is truly important. Ok, to be honest I have been pondering all this for a while but finally had the quiet and time to really think about it all.

Family:
I miss my girls. I feel as though we don't get nearly enough solid time together and one on one time seems long gone. I am making it my mission to work on this. In a couple weeks, I will be back to part time (happy dance) and although I will still be working over night three nights a week, I am determined to change about how I interact with the girls. I want to help create magical memories and experiences. So that is what I will do. I will also be spending more time with extended family, especially my grandparents, their greats. Life is far too short.

Faith:
We have started going to church again. I thought I would feel weird or out of place in a church. I though that some how I wouldn't belong. But the truth is I feel peaceful and centers after each service and small group. I feel like we are making the right path for our family. This is important on so many levels and though I am new, I am excited.

Marriage:
I believe that Hubbins is my soul mate but that doesn't mean we are good at showing our love. I am going to start trying more and communicating my needs in a more productive way. This is starting with DATE NIGHT!

Health:
Lastly, I have started a new diet and workout plan. So far 15lbs down after one week. I think, it helps that my soon to be sis in law is doing the diet too. It helps to have someone who understands the struggle and is their to encourage and provide support.

This is really just so that I have witnesses for the things I hope to change and embrace. Wish me luck.

Sick/tired day

The girls are fighting a cold and I am fighting exhaustion. Not just from colds but also from the over nights at work. So today we are lazy and this mama is giving in to their whims. Cartoons on mummy's IPad snuggled on the couch, and mini make overs. I love days like today not the feeling yucky part but the extra snuggles and between coughing fit smiles. Just want to share and be able to come back and read about an imperfect day made perfect by them.

Trendy Tot Tuesday:Little Ballerina

I am linking back up with the Trendy Tot Tuesday  ladies. I love this link up. I love that my girls are in dance class and since dance is on Tuesdays, I wanted to share some of my favorite outfits so far this year. I promise next week I will have more to say as I will hopefully be sleeping more.

If she has to wear a normal leotard and skirt the tights are crazy. She always has her own spin on outfits.

Serious, flash dance flash back!!! By far one of my favorites of the favs.

Trendy tot Tuesday

I am linking up again with trendy tot Tuesday and Kelly. Since we are FINALLY getting a glimpse of fall weather and before it starts snowing the end of this week, I wanted to show off some of my favorite fall outfits the girls have worn. Because let's face it, I am a sucker for all things FALL!
