Thanksgiving

Normally, I do the daily "thankful" posts on Facebook but this year time seem to get away with me and I only ended up doing about half the month. Of course, part of the reason is that I was more focused on embracing my thankfuls and not getting too caught up in all the crazy of life. That's one of the beautiful things about the holidays, people slow down and focus on good positive things more. We concentrate on life's blessings and not just the massive "to do" list. I'm lucky and very blessed. I feel my blessings more and more each day and this year plan to make it a point to share those blessings. Not just during the holiday season but all year long. I want to volunteer more and give more.

But it is Thanksgiving and I do have so much to be thankful for, so here are a few of my blessings.

My husband- We've had a few road blocks lately but I know we are on the right path now. We will come out of this journey wiser and our relationship stronger. You are my best friend and I cant image life without you! I love you!

Our girls- Being mommy to our daughters is the greatest privilege and blessing. They make me a better person and give me faith in the future. They are my heart and my hope. I love you girls so insanely much!

My family- I love my loud big crazy family. I may not always like the drama that comes with such a big family but I do love each of you and I'm grateful you are all a part of my life. Thank you for the lessons, the memories, and the laughter!

My friends- Both old and new, close friends and not so close friends. Each of you has a special place in my heart and have helped me become, well, me! Some of you have been there for me when life was really hard and I didn't see the rainbows anymore. Others have simply been there with laughter and kindness. I feel so blessed to know each one of you and cant wait to see where our friendships will go.

My faith- It's still new and exciting. I'm still learning. But I know the road that you are leading me down is right and one filled with blessings. I have already experience so many unexpected wonders and blessings!

Our dogs- Boy, do they know how to drive me crazy. But they are always there when I'm feeling a little blue or lonely. Chaser man is my cuddle buddy and confident.

Our home and the jobs that help provide for it.
Our health
And all the little blessings that come our way!

This is just a few of the insanely high number of blessings I am thankful for. I hope you all have a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving!! And that you make time to thank those in your life who have been there!

Pixie dust moments

This week has been long and hard. The girls and I are sick. Plus both Hubbins and me had to work. So yeah, fun for all right?! Anyway, I was going to write all the woe is me stuff but....YUCK! I do not want to dwell on that. So, here's the good stuff from today.

1. The girls feel well enough to drive me crazy.

2.I managed to deep clean and purge the girls room. Got a huge costco bag full of books and toys to donate!! Score!

3.I am finally hungry. A sign I am getting better!

4.just this

5. Seriously, loving word practice with Bug and the "how do you spell..." Questions.

6.hubbins! Seriously, he has been my rock star, knight in shinning armour, superhero this week. Thank you so much babe! I feel like I don't show my appreciation enough to you sometimes and in truth never would have made it through this week without you. I love you so much!

Trendy tot: 5th Birthday outfit

Back for more trendy tot!!!

Anyway, last month as some of you know Ladybug turned 5 and had a rock star party. Since money is a little right, I opted to make her outfit this year. I had so much fun with this and will make it a new birthday tradition.

This was my first tutu making experience, and it really is super easy. I didn't bother too much with making it all the same length since I wanted a more ragged rock star look. After the tulle I add various ribbons for some more texture. For pictures we just used a tank too and jeggins. Add some chalk for her hair and a little glitter and BAM, I give you rock star Bug!
I know this one is a different outift but I loved the idea of finding the number 5 around town. And seriously, look how cute she is.

Weekend fun

Saturday the girls and I meant up with my sis in law and the kiddos for down Christmas crafting at a local museum. The kids got to make lots of ornaments and then decorate some sugar cookies. I didn't get pictures of the decorating because it was so crazy and busy there just wasn't room or time. But after they are their cookies, we went to the museums awesome kid room. The kids had more fun in there. They pretended to be cowboys and Indians, rode horse, made food and just let loose.

Sunday we had church and then a thanksgiving dinner at my in laws church. Again, it was just too busy for pics but I got a couple cute ones of the girls before church.

39/52- and rant about pic stealing

A portrait each week of my girls for a year.
Please remember these are my pictures that I choose to share with you. Respect that and myself by not stealing them or saving them to your phone, computer, ect..... If you like a picture please ask and I will send it. But for now on I will have to make it very clear this is disrespectful and write on each picture. Thank you to all those who respect that these pictures are mine.

A couple fall pics

At the end of October on a rare free day, we set out in search of a leaf pile for some fun fall pics of the girls. It was the best thing ever! I so wish we had a yard filled with trees so that in the fall we can take the leaves up into a giant pile and spend days leaping into them or having little leaf fights. It's on my next house bucket list for sure, but since we don't right now, we went and found a pile. Here are a few picture my amazing and talented husband took.
Look at her leap! This girl gets so serious air now!
Little girl joy! Hubbins captures her personality so perfectly here!
I LOVE this picture of the girls and can't wait to get it printed, framed and hung up. Actually, I love all the pictures and the joy that is so visible on their little faces. I smell a new fall tradition and can't wait for next fall.

I also thought I would share this picture from the set we took back in the spring. Is it just me, or do they look like they've grown sooooo much?

Trendy tot: Big girl hair cut.

I'm a day behind but I still wanted to link up with trendy tot Tuesday, especially since you girls were last weeks "tots of the week." I'm not sure who was more excited about that Ladybug or me. It's pretty awesome. So thank you, ladies!

Anyway, I had another post planned but didn't get the pictures in time, so I'm doing a quick one and will post the other one next week. Ladybug has been on a short hair kick lately. She really wants a pixie cut but I'm not ready for that. It's hard enough letting her have short hair but I understand why. Lil sis has my long thick ringlet curls hair and EVERYONE comments on it. Ladybug has thinner wavy hair. Still very pretty but I think, she wants to stand out a little more. Last month on the day after her birthday, I took her for a hair cut. Thankfully, our hair dresser is AMAZING and talked her out of the pixie cut. Mama is just not ready for such a grown up cut. So, I thought I would share a picture of Ladybug's girl girl hair.

Here is the best before picture I have. See how she has just enough wave to make it look unkept. (On a side not, don't you just love her outfit and grown up posture. I am in big trouble with her when she gets older.)

And here it is! We both love it. She's super happy with the length and her new bangs and I'm happy that I can still do lil girl hair stuff with her.

Transformation Thursday.

I've struggled with weight issues my whole life it seems but recently have begun to seriously make getting healthier a priority. I want to be healthier and have more energy. I want to be able to chase my kiddos and be a healthy example for them.

So, I am coming here. I know that I don't have a ton of followers yet but I hope those that do read my blog will help keep me accountable as well as all my friends/family. I plan to do an update each Thursday including my weight loss for the week, how much I've worked out, etc......

This is a life change for me not just a diet so I'm going about things differently. The goal is to stick mostly to protein, vegetables and fruits. To start with I am cutting everything else out mostly and will slowly add things back in at a healthy portion size. I also will be working out 3-4 times a week. I want to do Pilates and a cardio workout.

So, wish me luck and please help with encouragement.

Trendy tot: dress up

Linking up with Trendy Tot Tuesday again today. This has to be one of my favorite type of posts and I am making it a blogging goal to join each week for the rest of the year.

Anyway, one of my VERY favorite things about having little girls is dress up time. I loved dress up when I was little and would use just about anything I could. I'm talking dresses made from sheets, hats made out of books, etc. Luckily, my girls have that same enthusiasm and I'm loving every moment of dress up time. My favorites though are when dress up crosses into day to day life. When we leave their bedroom or the confines of our home and they get to be characters all day. Here are a couple examples.
I love looking at the costume sales after Halloween. It's the best place to find good dress up clothes. The kind that actually lasts through a few years of toddler and little girl play. This year however the pickings were slim and I had all but given up. The. ladybug spotted these super girl shirts and my girls had to have them. As in wanted to put them on in the store right that second, had to have them. The shirts are a little too big which is ok since they were cheap and it means they can wear them through this year and next too. Win win! Add in a tutu for good measure, and I now have two crime fighting herons. They loved being herons and constantly ask to wear them again and again. Actually, I had to bribe Lil Giraffe with her princess Sofia shirt to get her to change clothes.
Speaking of, this is Lil Giraffe....I mean Princess Sofia. As soon as she sees this shirt in her closet it is all she talks about until I put her in it. Then for the rest of the day or longer if she is stubborn, my little girl becomes a princess. She even insists on being called Princess Sofia. Then there's my Ladybug princess and her dolly. She picked these outfits out with her birthday money from Great Grandma. I love this picture, because she looks soooo very young here. She is a princess most days, but she prefers to be the save her kingdom kinda princess and that is ok by me.

Trick or treat

Yesterday was so much fun. Ladybug had a pj party at school but since I got off at 7am I was unable to go.

After school, we had snacks and put costumes on. After a stop at Papa's store to show off the costumes and some pictures, we did down town trick or treating. Then meant up with the cousins. Ladybug had the best time running around with her bigger cousins. Luckily her uncle was able to stay caught up with them as they flew from house to house. It was a blast to see her excitement and see her take off on her own. (Seriously though I'm thinking that's enough independence. Let's go back to being 4 now, k?)

Lil Giraffe was more reserved and a little scared. Which was ALL good for my mama heart. I loved that she wanted me to hold her hand the whole time. That she wanted me close by to protect her and help. But oh was she cute. You could see her take a breath and say "trick or treat!" Then she'd break into a huge smile when they gave her some candy. However, after a couple house that were very much into the spirit she got scared and rode with daddy the rest of trick or treating.

Then after a stop to see Great-grandparents, we came home and crashed with a Halloween movie and popcorn.
