Year in Review 2014

Did you keep your new years’ resolutions?
Will you make more for next year?

I'm not big on making resolutions. I actually avoid making them. Though this year, Hubbins and I have decided to make a "live list." A list of all the things we want to do and experience in 2015.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
My best friend gave birth to her third child and first daughter! We also had new friends become new parents.
Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, there were no deaths in 2014
What would you like to have in 2015 that you lacked in 2014?
More family time and confidence in myself. I feel like 2014 was a year of relearning who I am; of finding my voice again. I really want to keep on that track and build my selfcofidence.
What date from 2014 will remain etched upon your memory?
Wow, this is really hard. There were a lot of really great moments in 2014. But I think the best moment was the day before Father's day. When I woke up so excited to take a little test and then jumped on our bed to wake hubbins with the news. We had gone back and forth about having a third baby, and having my heart overflow with joy at that little plus sign was priceless. Knowing that we would finally be a complete family is simply indescribable.
What was the best thing you bought?
Hmmmm......I didn't really do a lot of shopping or buying of big things. I don't think there is anything specific that we bought. If I have to pick something it is my stroller. I love this thing. It's one of those crazy expensive ones and I got it in like new condition for $50.00. It fits Jozy now and will be perfect for Button.
Whose behavior merited celebration?
Watching the girls grow this year has been amazing. They never cease amazing me with their ability to adjust and overcome life's obstacles. But this year watching Hubbins transformation has been astounding. He has become the most amazing husband and friend. I am so excited to see what 2015 has in store for him.
Where did most of your money go?
Bills and things to get ready for a baby. We had gotten rid of most of our baby stuff, so its been expensive to recollect.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Finding out we are pregnant with lucky number three was the most exciting news. But we also got to start new adventures and take an awesome trip to Washington for a visit to my brother's.
What song will always remind you of 2014?
There are a lot of songs that stick out this year.
My top would have to be Mom by Garth Brooks
Something in the water by Carrie Underwood

I may add to this list but right now those are the songs that seem to fit best.
Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder?

Thinner or fatter? Fatter (since I am 33weeks preggo)
Richer or poorer? about the same
What do you wish you’d done more of?
Explored more and made more time to have fun with family.
What do you wish you’d done less of?
Did you fall in love in 2014?
I fell in love all over again with Hubbins. This was a year of challenges and struggles. But we overcame so much and I got to fall madly in love all over again.
Who were your best friends?
Sheena and Laura
What thing did you do that was meaningful to others?
I like to think I was a great shoulder to lean on for others.
What were your favorite TV programs?
Bones is still my favorite program, though Hubbins and I got into Arrow.
Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?.
What was the best book you read in 2014?
Power of a Praying Wife. I haven't finished it but I really like the book and the principles.
What was your greatest musical discovery?.
That Ladybug has an insane ear for music
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 27 and since I was sick this year not much. I did some Christmas shopping with my Hubbins and sis-in-law, then we played some board games. Just an awesome low key family day.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
My family.
What kept you sane?
My blog and journal. Writing has always been my greatest therapy.
Who do you miss?
Lots of people. My two best friends and of course all my family that lives too far away.
Who are the best new persons you met this year?
Amelia Bedila, my niece. Does that count? I think it should. I love my family and meeting my littlest niece was the best! Plus, she is a spit fire like her aunty.
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2014
To always focus on the good and trust in God's path. There were a lot of road blocks this year and things that I didn't think we could get through. But truly we came out stronger and better.
Quote that sums up your year:
"Things get better, they always do. Getting there is just the hard part!"

32-33 week

Since I have a feeling my pregnancy is coming to a close, I wanted to catch up a Little.I have really loved this pregnancy even with all the pain and sickness. Maybe its because I know this is our last one, and I really just want to soak up each feisty kick or stretch.
Baby Button is growing right along and is very healthy. But with my contractions picking up and loss of appetite (among other signs), I would not be surprised if she arrives before the new year.

I am loving this stage where the girls fit so perfectly around my bump. They snuggle in and talk to their little sister or sing to her. I can't wait to see them interacting with Button and loving on her. How blessed Hubbins and I are to have three amazing littles. And to see them love one another is the best gift of all.

I feel like I should have more to say, but truly I am just loving each moment. I have been writing more and hope to write a blog post before too much longer about all my thoughts and emotions.

Christmas 2014

Christmas was a lot of fun and went by really fast. There were lots of little moments in the two days that simply filled my heart with bliss.
Ladybug awaiting the arrival of Yaya the day before Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve morning was spent at my brother's house with our families and Yaya. I love watching the girls spend time with mom. She is by far their favorite person and its so much fun to watch their bond grow. In the evening we went out to my dad's. There was lots of family time, a hay ride to look at lights and plenty of laughter.

Christmas morning was by far my favortie time. Growing up I didnt think Christmas could get better, but after having kids I realize just how wrong I was. Christmas is so much cooler and more magical with kids. The girls were super into giving this year and picked out special gifts for each other. Watching them exchange those gifts was the best moment of the whole season. Their excitement to give to each other is breath taking.

This is moment we realized dress up heels could have been a bad idea!

Hubbins with his blanket of happiness and Jack head (its actually the a yahtzee game)

Our silly little elves.

More random moments from Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Watching Jozy open presents and her excitement over each was hilarious.

More merry Christmas happenings

Just some more pics from the last week. I am struggling this year with staying in the holiday spirit, but whenever I see how excited the girls are it gets easier. The magic in their eyes is enough to make any Grinch's heart grow. I am so thankful for these little blessings and all the love they share.

Wednesday, we had dinner at my brother's and the kids did a little gift exchange thing. The girls got some cute little stuffies. I couldn't stop laughing when I realized that Ladybug's outfit matched the little bird she got. Too cute.

These two have been oddly friendly lately, and I really appreciated it this week.

Friday was pajama day at the big kids' school. (of course, Jozy had to play along too and with a tutu). There is just something extra fun about getting to go to school in Pj's and the kids all loved it.

Ladybug also had her class party that day too. Jozy and I volunteered to help. It was a blast.

Here she is with her little Grinch kabob.

Saturday Button and I made some cookies while the kiddos did some fun Christmas ornament crafts.

They also helped with sugar cookies. It was a lot of fun to see them get so excited.

Yaya sent the girls the best Christmas shirts. I had to get some pictures of them.

Turning 27 and Bug's first concert

Saturday I turned 27 years old. For me it doesn't really seem weird or different, but then again its not really a milestone year. Actually, I didn't even really think about it until I sat down to right this blog. The truth is I am happy with life. Really happy, not just "I should say I'm happy" happy. There are certainly things I wish were easier and stresses that I wish we could move past; but isn't that what life is all about. The good, the bad, the ugly; it's all important. I am starting to really learn and lean on that lesson. But when I really think about my life, I think about our beautiful growing family, my extended family and all our wonderful friends. I think about finding God and faith again. It's truly been a blessed and wonderful year!

We were suppose to head over to my brother's for my niece's first birthday, but unfortunately the stomach yuck struck our house hard. So instead I had a low key day of hanging out. I spend the morning with Hubbins and the girls who surprised me with some awesome gifts and then we got some donuts. My sister in law and I snuck away for some adult only shopping and it was SOOOOOOO nice. I love shopping with our girls, but it was really nice to have some adult girl time and not have to chase kids around. Plus, we were able to get a lot of Christmas shopping done and stop at a new store in a short amount of time. It was awesome.

This is the birthday picture Ladybug had Hubbins take the morning of my birthday (they had to finish shopping). She sure does know how her mommy loves things like this. Plus, look how gorgeous our girl is!

I told Hubbins that all I wanted for my birthday was for the girls to pick out gifts for me. They were given a set budget and he was instructed not to help AT ALL. We decided the dollar store and Target dot spot were the best places for the girls. These are all my goodies. Notice all the yellow? The girls know this is my favorite color and made sure to get plenty. Jozy got me the fuzzy socks because I love funky socks, a Sofia necklace (she knew I would love it because she does), chap stick (because I ALWAYS have some) and a pretty basket (because I love fun bins). Ladybug got me the nutcracker, which she named George Washington Bald Nutcracker, the yellow light up necklace and furby, a teddy bear (so I have something to snuggle when she isn't there). But the one that really got me was the little Mary and Jesus statue she picked out. At first I was confused and figured it was because of church. She got it for me however, because it reminded her of how much I love her. How sweet is that? I totally cried and hugged her close. The girls did awesome and I will most certainly be treasuring all these little gifts.

Hubbins knows the way to my heart is the written word. He got me a new journal, pen and day planner. It was an amazing birthday and I felt very loved.

Bug's first Holiday Concert!
Today was Ladybug's kindergarten Christmas concert. She has been singing her songs for weeks now and I was so excited to see her in action. Bug loves all things musical and the spot light. So of course, she did AMAZING! It was so fun to see all the kindergartners and Jozy cheered super loud for her big sis.

I attempted to make her hair into a Christmas tree for today. It didn't turn out perfect but still looks festive. She loved it, and that is what matters most.

Our girls looking merry and bright. The goal is to wear holiday clothes all week long. I love that they get into all the holiday craze with me.

And there she is! Look at that super excited face!!!!!! I can't believe she is already having school concerts and getting so big!

Breakfast with Santa and Bowling

Saturday was a crazy fun filled day. It started off early with a surprise breakfast with Santa for the girls. They had so much and loved getting to hang out with Santa. There was a yummy pancake bar and holiday crafts too. It was so much to see the girls excitement.

Jozy was so focused on Santa and got a little concerned when he talked to everyone else.

Finally, the girls got some Santa time and pictures. Hubbins took the pictures and I'll share them in a different post. But watching the girls with Santa was so much fun. They talked to him for awhile and Jozy made him a stocking craft. It was precious.

This is her "nice" smile.

After breakfast we decided to do some pictures of the girls, since they looked so cute. After a few shots, Ladybug took over the camera. She had so much fun and got some great shots. She directed us and moved around to get the best shot. It was a blast and I am so proud of her. Once of my favorite things as mommy is watching the girls jumping both feet first into things that make them happy. I have no doubt Ladybug will be an artist in some way and wouldn't be surprised if she followed in her daddy's foot steps.

What you don't see in this next photo is that they are 14ft up on rail road tracks. To say mommy was a little nervous is an understatement. But I trust Hubbins and the girls listened so well. Plus we got some great pictures.

Afterwards we headed back to my brother's house to help get ready for my nephew's bowling party. The kids ran around and I helped prep food. Then it was time to head to the bowling alley. Unfortunately, I didn't get to bowl but I did have a great time watching everyone. The girls love bowling and are getting so much better. Also, Ladybug beat all the boys and won the first game!

After awhile, Jozy decided to she didn't want to use the bowling ramp thing so Daddy came over to help. I love this pic of them.

And then this moment of the two girls. Since Jozy was having a hard time carrying the ball, Ladybug came to the rescue. It filled my mommy heart with so much pride and love.
Not to be out done, Ladybug decided to bowl without the ramp too. She has a pretty awesome arm.

And then some of Jozy finally bowling on her own. I am so proud of my girls.
