Spontaneous sister shoot at home

We had a very low key valentine weekend. I am actually not a huge fan of the holiday and I don't exchange gifts with Hubbins. Since it did fall on a weekend, we made a special breakfast for the girls (strawberries and pink doughnuts) and they got a gift. The rest of the day was spent like normal, cleaning, snuggles and board games.
However, I took the advantage of all the love vibes to have a quick photo shoot. I have been dying to get some pictures of the girls in the staircase and love how these all turned out.

A year later......

Today snuck up on me, even though I have been dreading it for weeks. Today is the day, I would looked back. Go through the pictures that still make me cry and really deal. But I woke up refreshed, and peaceful. It took me a few moments to realize that today was her one year NICU graduate anniversary.
I did look back; I read my journal, looked at the photos taken and prayed. I cried, and I realized it's ok. Those 3 weeks and five days will always be hard for me to look back on.
However for Button, they are an epic first chapter. She has been a fighter, survivor and do it on her time kind of girl from the first sentence. Her book will be filled with advenuters and fights. She will be strong and stubborn. Those are such amazing things.

The NICU will forever be a part of our lives, especially Button's. But now a year later, with a feisty trouble maker, I can look at the wonderful things that have come from it.

Surprise and other weekend fun!

This last weekend was the guys nerdapoloza at my little brothers. My awesome sister in law threw all the guys in the family a great star wars game weekend. They all had so much fun and I wish I took some pictures of the great decorations.

While the guys all game, the women and kiddos hangout. We went shopping, swimming and Button got a surprise birthday party.
My mom and sister in laws planned the sweetest most wonderful surprise party for our little Button. Since she was too sick to have her birthday party the weekend before, they got together to make sure she was celebrated. I love how lucky our girls are to be so loved by their Yaya and aunts!
It was a wonderful family fun filled weekend and I wanted to make sure to document all the love and fun.
